How to Prepare and Enjoy Dire Beef

We humbly suggest that Dire Beef goes well with any one of several fine, fermented beverages. Please consult with our guild sommelier* for beverage recommendations.

  1. Tradeskills:We help each other out with trade skills. If you have a tradeskill you'd like to offer to your fellow Beefs, please note it in your guild note. Crafting materials generally fly freely around between guild members, on a casual quid pro quo barter system.
  2. Loot:We don't have official loot rules, because we don't want to be that guild. However, we suggest rolling Greed for green items. If a BoP/blue presents itself, we suggest group discussion, with those classes that can use the item (and will do so immediately) rolling Need. 20 and 40 person raids, especially those with our allied guilds, may have more formal looting procedures.

Formal Guild Law, which is a compiliation of gaming common sense (The Warcraft equivilant of "wear pants in the morning" and "don't stick sharp objects in other peoples' eyes"), is held within the Dire Beef Filet Carta.

*We don't really have a sommelier, but it sounds like a great idea. An informal caucus suggests that red wines, hard cider, and Belgian stouts seem to pair best with our steaks.

Cuts of Dire Beef

Here's the menu of our delicious steaks, prepared to order.

Our ranks are predominently for additional flavor (har har), and shouldn't be taken too seriously. All members of Dire Beef are welcome on our guild channel and Teamspeak server.

  1. Gristle of Dire Beef: Entry-level steak. If you're new to the guild, you'll be Gristle until an officer can come by and promote you to your race's starting rank. No one is a Gristle for long unless they've been very, very, very baaaad.
  2. Bones of Dire Beef: A starting rank specially reserved for our undead friends. They were cows in a previous life... we're sure of it!
  3. Brisket of Dire Beef: Great for stewing, this rank is the initial home to Orc and Troll Beef.
  4. Flanks of Dire Beef: Our opening cuts of Tauren beef, and tastily aged cuts of Orc, Troll, and yes, Undead steaks. The process is very sanitary. Really.
  5. Sirloin of Dire Beef: These proven steaks are tender and well-seasoned. Sirlons and above can invite to guild.
  6. Ribeye of Dire Beef: These choice cuts of Dire Beef are overly helpful, generous, and go well with a fine Merlot.
  7. Filet of Dire Beef: Filets of Dire Beef are very rare, representing the pinnacle of Beef flavor.
  8. Choice Cut of Dire Beef: Assistant officer rank. Reserved for if/when we get really, really big, and need help riding herd on things. Riding herd? Funny! Ahahahaa.. Ok, I'll stop.
  9. Prime Cut of Dire Beef: Officer rank. Officers can promote/demote steaks, and (shudder) remove spoiled meat from the Dire Beef menu.
  10. Prime Rib of Dire Beef: The Guild Master. By WoW rules, there can be only one.
